Every 4th of July is celebrated in style, the independence of one of the most culturally diverse nations and owner of the “American Dream”. No matter where you’re from, if you live in the United States it’s almost an obligation to celebrate the independence of this beautiful country. But how to celebrate? 1. Independence Day in the United States.

The United States of America was born on July 4, 1776 after a series of conflicts with the United Kingdom that would have triggered a war, which would not formally end until 7 years after the country was declared independent. At its birth, the United States was made up of colonies that would later be called “states”. Over time, more states were added and now the United States of America is made up of 50 states.

2. Types of Independence Day celebrations.

Independence Day in the United States of America is celebrated in different ways, the most common being celebrations in schools, day care centers, government institutions, Congress and in the White House. One of the most traditional ways of celebrating Independence Day is with fireworks in different important points of the country; besides, parades, family barbecues and what can’t be missed, the flags that can be seen all over the country, have become very fashionable.

3. How to organize Independence Celebrations in Schools.

Schools are known for cultivating a sense of patriotism in children; and even though the 4th of July is summer vacations in most schools in the United States, many of the schools participate in Independence Day Parades. Some schools are also part of symphony concerts or ceremonies held on this important date. Generally, throughout the year they prepare to be part of this annual event.

4. Hospitals can also celebrate Independence Day.

There are organizations or people who make sure that people who are in the hospitals can be part of important celebrations: Christmas, New Year’s Day, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Children’s Day or the celebration of Independence Day. These celebrations are a little different from the traditional ones, as you can’t have parades or fireworks; however, you can sing the National Anthem at a certain time of the day, place flags on patients’ beds or even organize a show of independence entertainment for the children in the hospital.

5. Independence Day Celebrations in Day Care.

The 4th of July is a holiday and, therefore, almost everyone has a vacation and is at home; however, in day care centers, Independence Day can be celebrated a day before or a day after; the important thing is also that children know the importance of the celebration from a young age. You can also organize a show for them, with flags, games and activities according to their age.

6. Celebrate Independence Day at Home.

One of the traditional ways of celebrating independence is at home, grilling with the family. Taking advantage of the holiday, many families get together for a barbecue or go to the parks for a picnic. Now that the lockdown measures have been lifted in many of the states in the country, this celebration will be a return to the new normal. If you are thinking of organizing an independence party at home, it is also a great idea to prepare a buffet alluding to independence, with desserts with flags and other activities according to the date.
